GOP’s Brandon Gill Calls For Deporting Ilhan Omar Back To Somalia

First-term Republican Representative Brandon Gill from Texas is urging the Trump administration to deport Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) back to her native Somalia. On Tuesday, Gill expressed on the X platform, “America would be a better place if @IlhanMN were sent back to Somalia.”

Gill’s tweet included a video featuring Omar, in which she appears to be advising fellow Somalis residing in the U.S. — potentially without legal status — on how to evade federal immigration authorities. The video was shared by conservative commentator Greg Price, who remarked, “Ilhan Omar is now conducting workshops for Somalis living in the country illegally, advising them on how to avoid deportation.” Several users on X supported Gill’s stance.

One user commented, “100%! She’s as anti-American as they come. She pledged allegiance to the United States and has only acted against it. She’s a fraud, liar, and traitor to this country!”

Another user added, “Isn’t this illegal? She should be expelled!”

A different user stated, “She is committing federal crimes by instructing undocumented immigrants on how to evade ICE. She deserves to be investigated and prosecuted.”

Later, Gill remarked, “We should have never allowed Ilhan Omar into our country.”

A spokesperson for Gill told The Hill, “Representative Omar’s actions raise concerns about her loyalty—whether it lies with the American people or with illegal aliens from Somalia. Representative Gill simply pointed out that it is disgraceful for a sitting Congresswoman and U.S. citizen to facilitate the invasion of our country by undocumented Somalis.”

In the video, Omar advised undocumented Somalis or those whose documentation may have expired on how to respond if questioned by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. “You are not required to answer their questions. Just state that you are advised by a lawyer not to respond,” Omar told the reporter. “You are not obligated to disclose your name, immigration status, or how you entered the country. Familiarize yourself with the laws and prepare accordingly, and refrain from disclosing information.”Omar’s directives emerge as President Donald Trump’s fledgling administration begins to fulfill his campaign promise of executing mass deportations, initially targeting illegal immigrant criminals. Tom Homan, the border czar with extensive experience as a Border Patrol officer and senior federal immigration official, has stated that while the primary focus is on criminal aliens, anyone found to be unlawfully present in the country is at risk of arrest and deportation.

“In sanctuary cities, anticipate numerous collateral arrests. I mean, these are not priority criminal arrests. If we cannot apprehend the primary offenders, we must enter communities to locate them, which may lead to additional arrests. We foresee a significant number of collateral arrests,” Homan remarked in December, prior to taking office alongside Trump.

“There are over 700,000 criminal aliens with convictions,” Homan noted. “ICE will execute its responsibilities effectively.”

“We will commence operations nationwide on the same day that Trump assumes office,” he stated. “Twenty-four ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations field offices—some of which cover two or three states—will be instructed to start identifying, arresting, detaining, and removing individuals in the United States who have been arrested for a crime.”

Additionally, in December, Homan confronted CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during a heated interview regarding the administration’s mass deportation strategy. During the segment on “The Source,” Homan remained resolute when Collins inquired about ICE agents pursuing illegal aliens who sought refuge in schools, churches, and hospitals to evade deportation.

“What is the standard for entering an elementary school?” Collins questioned. “Because immigration advocates have expressed concerns that this could create a chilling effect for parents during school drop-off.”
