Catrin Pugh, who was only 19 years old, had big plans for the future. Her life, however, took a terrible turn in April 2013 when the bus she was riding following a trip to the French Alps collapsed.
Doctors gave her a 1% chance of surviving after she suffered burns over 96% of her body—a miracle she nearly missed.

A Tragic Turning Point
Born and reared in North Wales, UK, Catrin was a daring kid who enjoyed taking trips. She boarded a coach in the French Alps to return to Britain in April 2013, as the ski season was coming to a close. A catastrophe occurred on the route, which was notorious for its steep descent and twenty-one severe hairpin bends. Catrin heard the driver murmur, “I’ve got no brakes!” as they approached the twentieth bend. Panic broke out a few moments later when the bus started to spin uncontrollably.
