In my opinion, blogger Georgie Clarke is doing a fantastic job reminding her 690K followers not to believe everything they see on social media with her ongoing series.
Two side-by-side photos taken a minute apart make up each post. Everything was the same, including the clothes and makeup (or lack thereof). The only distinction is the method; the first one appears to have been taken with the intention of making Clarke appear as amazing as possible, whereas the second one appears to have been taken as a casual snapshot to merely save the memory.
As we go through, it becomes evident that the picture-perfect individuals we are continuously comparing ourselves to on our feed aren’t actually that perfect. While the person behind the lens understands how to get the ideal light and the most pleasing perspective, they simply remember to contract their muscles and suck in their stomach when they are in front of the lens.

I am happy to report that, after a few years of treatment, self-love, and a great deal of self-compassion, I am in the best physical and mental health I have ever experienced. My relationship with my body is equally as vital as my relationship with my brain. “And you see the difference, wow,” she added.
“I now have [the] resources to look for myself when my mental health issues arise. Although it has taken me a long time to acquire these skills, I am still able to appreciate how crucial it is to look after oneself or seek assistance when I am experiencing hardship because I have compassion and love for myself.
In order to demonstrate that social media is more complex than it first appears, Clarke has been sharing side-by-side photos.”This serves as a reminder that even if someone looks happy in a photo, they may still be dealing with personal problems.”
