Bill Gates took a jab at Elon Musk after the tech billionaire was appointed to lead Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk, who was swiftly appointed after Trump’s second-term inauguration, didn’t waste time in pushing forward his goal of reducing the federal workforce to save money. This included sending an ultimatum email to employees, which ultimately led to the Trump administration having to backtrack and rehire 180 workers.
Gates didn’t hold back, criticizing Musk’s actions and accusing him of “killing the world’s poorest children” by dismantling critical agencies and programs, including foreign aid organizations like the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
